Expert Tips on Caring For Baby Bearded Dragons

So, you’ve got yourself a small dragon.  Well, baby bearded dragons require slightly different care than their older counterparts.  Keep reading to pick up a few tips on caring for baby beardies.

Habitat

Obviously, adults need a larger enclosure than juveniles.  It’s important that you don’t house a baby in a vivarium that’s way too large.  It will likely make him very uncomfortable.  Babies should be kept in a maximum 20 gallon tank until at least four months old.  Don’t forget to put some rocks, wood, and sticks in the habitat so he can climb around.

Substrate

The type of substrate that you use with baby bearded dragons is very important.  Since they’re pretty sloppy eaters, they commonly ingest pieces of substrate.  Therefore, it’s best to use carpet or some type of paper product as a substrate.  As your beardie ages, you can change the substrate to sand.

Crickets

You need to feed babies crickets on a regular basis.  Provide all he can eat within 15 minutes.  However, it’s important that you don’t feed him crickets that are too large for him.  Not only may he choke on the oversized cricket, it may also lead to impaction or pressure on the spinal cord which can cause paralysis.

Water

Baby dragons don’t usually drink their water from a bowl.  Instead, they usually choose to get water from misting or soaking.  It’s best to mist them about three times each day to ensure that they stay hydrated.  Older dragons tend to eat more salads, so they get water from them.

Mates

Are you thinking about moving your baby dragon in with others sometime in the future.  Well, you need to make sure that they’re approximately the same size.  If not, the larger dragon will probably be aggressive and attack the smaller one.

There are probably many more things you need to learn about caring for bearded dragons. Fortunately, bearded-dragon-care.net provides everything you need to get started. So, stop by today to start reading about topics such as how to setup proper bearded dragon housing.

Holiday Gift Giving Tips for Men: U.S. and European Men Reveal Top Brand Choices

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 11, 2006

What does the man on your Christmas list want this year? Chances are good that he’ll enjoy something from Nike or Adidas if he’s anything like the nearly 9,000 men polled on their favorite brands.

According to a survey of men in the U.S., UK, France, Germany, and Poland conducted by international brand design firm, Dragon Rouge, of their favorite brands, men around the world think most highly of sportswear makers Nike and Adidas, followed by electronics manufacturers Sony and Nokia and apparel make Hugo Boss.

In the U.S., Ralph Lauren is also highly regarded (third after Nike and Adidas).

Here are highlights from the survey:

Favorite Brand by Country:

U.S. – Nike named by almost 28% of respondents

UK – Nike cited by almost 13%

France – Nike named by over 5%

Germany – Adidas and Sony tied with over 11% each

Poland – Durex was named by over 13%, followed by Nike with almost 8%.

Favorite Brand by Category:

Electronics – Sony was named the top electronic brand in all countries. Apple was #2 in the UK and France, but was barely mentioned in Germany, Poland, or even the U.S.

Automobiles – U.S. men named Ford while UK men cited BMW, France named Audi and Germany chose BMW. (Note: men surveyed gave consistent high marks for German engineering, mentioning BMW and Mercedes in all markets and Audi in all but the U.S.)

Beverages – Coca-Cola was named number one except in the U.S. where it was number two (12%) to Pepsi (18%) and tied for first place with Pepsi in Poland.

Fashion – In the U.S., Nike (26%) and Ralph Lauren (22%) came out on top, while in the UK, Armani, Hugo Boss, Nike and Adidas each received about 9%, in France, Hugo Boss and Zara claimed 9%, in Germany Adidas slightly edged out (about 10%) Levis with just under 9%, and in Poland, Nike took the top spot with almost 12%.

Body Care – For the U.S. it was Axe and Dove claiming 21% each; in the UK, Hugo Boss (16%) followed closely by Gillette (14%), in France, L’Oreal was named by almost 20%, in Germany Hugo Boss (20%) with Axe closely following with 17%, and in Poland Adidas was chosen with 21%.

According to Jonathan Asher, President, Dragon Rouge USA, “Our data revealed a great deal of consistency across markets. On an overall basis, men’s brand preferences were similar for categories (i.e. sportswear), even if brands varied (Nike, Adidas). In some categories, the brand preference was overwhelmingly consistent as with Coca-Cola for beverages and Sony for electronics.”

Background and Methodology of the Survey

Dragon Rouge, the world’s leading independent global brand design firm, surveyed 8,750 men ages 18 – 55 in the U.S., UK, France, Germany and Poland. The survey was conducted electronically during the month of October 2006.

Follow up interviews to determine more detailed insights are currently being conducted and will be announced in January 2007.

Graphs are attached. A full survey report is available from Don Cirigliano at Dragon Rouge (212) 367-8800

Expert Tips on Breeding Bearded Dragons

Breeding bearded dragons requires more than putting a male and female together.  If you’re trying to breed these lizards, there are a few things you need to know beforehand.  This article will give you a few tips.

Age

It’s a mistake to breed beardies at a young age.  Younger dragons have an increased risk of egg binding as well as other health problems.  Females bred at too early of an age usually have a shorter lifespan.  It’s best to wait until they’re at least 18 months old.

Behavior

When ready to breed, the male’s beard will darken.  He will try to get the female to notice him by bobbing his head and stomping his feet.  Females will slowly bob their head in return and wave their arms.  The male often gets quite violent when mating as he will bite at the female’s neck to steady his position.

Lay Area

When your dragons start displaying their mating behavior, it’s important that you setup a lay area for the eggs.  If the female can’t find a proper area to lay her eggs, she may become egg-bound.  The area should be large and filled with moist soil and sand.

Eggs

It generally takes anywhere between four and six weeks for the female to lay her eggs.  You should be aware that the eggs won’t hatch on their own if you leave them there.  Instead, you need to dig them up very gently, making sure you don’t turn them upside down.

Females tend to lay some infertile eggs in their first clutch.  They will be yellow when held up to a candle.  Also, they will have a gelatin-like feel to them.  On the other hand, fertile eggs feel more like leather.  They will appear pink when candled.  You should also be able to see a developing, round embryo inside.

Incubation

You should setup your incubator around the same time you construct the lay area to ensure it’s ready.  The temperature should be between 82 and 84 degrees Fahrenheit.  There should also be plenty of humidity.  The eggs should hatch in about two months.

Bearded Dragons love crickets, but do not feed them only crickets. This is not good for the older dragons, but juvenile dragons is fine to feed only crickets.

When feeding them crickets it is vital that you gut-load the crickets. This helps your dragon to maintain a healthy diet. Also make sure that the crickets are about the same size as the width of little dragon’s head. The width of their head is the space between the eyes.

You should also consider getting some vitamin supplements to powder the crickets and the other foods you feed your dragon

Bearded Dragons will eat everything, just about, you give them. Learn the proper lettuce you feed them. DO NOT FEED them Iceberg lettuce! Stick to the Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, etc.

They also love meal worms and king worms but do not give these to them very often, it’s better to keep these on a weekly basis not a daily basis. Also one note to those of you who want to breed you dragons feeding both your males & females LIVE PINKIE MICE.

Bearded Dragons will almost always look and act hungry, Please Do Not over feed them! Set up a regular schedule to feed them once in the morning or evening. Stick to this schedule no matter what, it is better for you and your dragon

Castle Age Guide and Tips

Castle Age Guide and Tips

Castle Age is a time-based massively-multiplayer online (MMO) game hosted on Facebook. You get to quest in a lore-rich world, team up with friends to fight monsters such as dragons and hydra, and even invade and duel thousands of other Castle Age players! The following is a guide and tips on the various Castle Age stats and the many actions that you can take in the game.

Player Stats

In Castle Age, you are able to complete quests, battle other players and fight dangerous monsters. Which stat you focus on will determine how good you are in each of those areas. Everytime you gain a level and complete quests, you will be given points that you can allocate to whichever stat you choose.

* Attack – This determines how effective you are at fighting other players and dealing damage to monsters. Focus on this stat if you are interested in player-vs-player (PVP) action or monster-slaying.
* Defense – High defense makes you more effective at defeating other players who attack you, and also causes monsters to deal less damage to you. Generally useful to prevent losing health and gold all the time when other players attack you.
* Energy – Doing quests requires energy, with the more advanced quests requiring more energy. Focus on this stat if you want to do more quests, thus earning experience and gaining gold and levels faster. Energy regenerates at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes.
* Health – This determines how much of a beating you can take. You will take damage each time you fight other players and monsters. High health will allow you to take more damage before you become too weak to fight. However, healing to full health is pretty cheap, so this stat is not too important. Health regenerates at a rate of 1 every 3 minutes.
* Stamina – It costs 2 points to increase your stamina by 1. Each stamina point allows you to fight another player or attack a monster, hence a high stamina means you can fight more. Fighting is also a good source of experience points, and killing monsters gives you the chance of collecting powerful items. Hence stamina is a fairly important stat to focus on. Stamina regenerates at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes.

Quests

One way of seeing the world of Castle Age is by questing. You are able to explore the world from the lowest level Land of Fire through to more treacherous areas. As you progress, the quests become more difficult to do and have more requirements you need to meet before you can attempt them. Each quest requires a certain amount of energy, and usually have other requirements you have to meet before you are allowed to attempt it, such as a specific hero you need to employ as well as specific combinations of units and equipment. In addition, each “Land” or level of quests has an “end boss” quest that rewards you with powerful heroes, equipment and magic when you complete it.

It is a good idea to plan ahead and look at the requirements of a couple of quests beyond the one you are currently attempting. If you know what heroes and which units are required, you will be able to save up enough gold to buy them when you’ve completed your current quest, therefore not wasting any time between quests. In addition, some quests have very high energy requirements. Knowing how much energy you need in the immediate future will also help you plan your stat allocation accordingly.

Battles

Battling involves fighting with other Castle Age players, whether it is via a full-scale invasion or a duel between your top generals. You earn battle points each time you defeat an opponent. The more battle points you earn, the higher your battle rank; and certain ranks allow you to hire or summon powerful units, items and spells.

Do note though that you gain more battle points defeating opponents with a higher level and rank than you. There is also a battling restriction while you are lower than level 80. You will only be able to battle other players in the same 10-level bracket as you. After level 80, it’s a free-for-all and everyone is fair game.

Invading another player involves huge armies battling each other. Therefore it is the option of choice for players with lots of friends playing the game and hence a larger army. Each army member will use one of your items and spells to face the other player’s army. If your army is big enough, your generals will also join in the fight.

Dueling involves sending your best general against the other player’s general. These generals will be equipped with the very best items and magic in your arsenal. As such, this is the option for players that do not have that many friends playing the game.

Whether you are invading or dueling, your attack stat is naturally important if you are the attacker, and the defense stat is crucial if you want to win fights that other players start. In addition, stamina is important if you want to start a lot of fights.

Monsters

Fighting monsters is the third style of play in Castle Age besides questing and battling other players. These monsters are summoned by players once they meet certain requirements. Bosses such as Gildamesh the Orc King and Sylvanas the Sorceress Queen become accessible once you complete the majority of quests in their respective regions. Other monsters such as dragons and hydra can be summoned once you have collected all the prerequisite alchemical ingredients.

Some of the lower level monsters can be fought on your own. However, the majority of them will require teamwork as you recruit other players to fight with you. Monsters such as the region bosses and dragons can be fought by the summoner and other players in their army. The World Hydra works a bit differently, and can be attacked by any Castle Age player who happens to stumble upon them.

These monsters have a set time limit in which they have to be killed, otherwise they will flee. If you manage to kill a monster, you will have the chance of collecting rare items, units and magic from it.

Heroes

Heroes or generals are the backbone of your army. Each quest will require a specific hero to lead your army in order to complete it. In addition, your heroes will lead your army in battles with other players, or be your representative in duels. They will also be the ones fighting the monsters. (It’s a tough life being a hero!)

There are various heroes with varying degrees of power in attack and defense. The more common ones can be hired in town, but the most powerful ones (including demons and demi-gods) can only be accessed via the Oracle with favor points, which we will discuss later on.

Units, Items and Magic

When you’re in town, you can spend gold to hire units and buy equipment to prepare for battle. Each quest that you complete will have a certain number and type of units that you are required to have. Only when you have hired those units will you be able to attempt the quest.

Units and equipment are crucial when you are fighting. When invading other players, the more powerful units you have, the more chance you have at successfully defeating the other player. In addition, when you are dueling another player or fighting a monster, your best equipment in each “body slot” will provide damage bonuses for you and keep you from taking damage.

Land

Although Castle Age is all about questing, fighting monsters and battling other players, the bit that is most crucial to your success is your economic machine. You will need lots of gold to hire heroes and units and equip them with good items and magic. In addition, the more powerful of these units and equipment have an upkeep, costing you gold every hour.

Doing quests, attacking other players and fighting monsters all provide you with some gold, but you will need to invest that hard-earned cash into land that will generate hourly income for you. Do note that the more of each land type you buy, the more expensive it becomes. It pays to check the return on investment for each land type at all times to determine which piece of land is of the most value.

Demi-Powers

Demi-Powers are deities or gods that can aid you in your struggles. There are 5 demi-powers, each of whom has a unique role and can provide you with powerful benefits when you ask for their blessings. For example, Malekus is the demi-power of war, and you will gain 1 attack point each time you pray to him. In addition to these stat boosts, praying to the demi-powers will also unlock exclusive quests and provide you with powerful items and magic.

Oracle

This is where the most powerful heroes and items can be obtained. Every month, there will be an exclusive hero and their related equipment that can be bought using favor points. In addition, there are “treasure chests” available where you can spend favor points and gamble on what you will receive. It could be a common piece of armor, or it could be the most powerful general in the game.

These favor points can be a bit difficult to come by. You start the game with a few favor points, and you have a chance of earning them each time you kill a monster. You can also earn favor points each time you complete offers and respond to paid advertising in the Oracle section of the game. Another option is that you can buy the favor points outright using cash.

Hopefully this guide will clarify some of the less obvious aspects of the game, and make your experience playing Castle Age more enjoyable! For more information, please visit us at http://www.game-tycoon.com/castle-age-guide.html

Beauty Tips – Facial Care That Slows Down Aging

Beauty Tips – Facial Care That Slows Down Aging

Your face tells your whole story; a beautiful and fresh face shows that you are careful about what you use for your face. It also means that you take the time out to care for yourself. Many people consider just washing their faces with soap daily as being facial care. Just washing your face may remove some of the residual oils on your face as well as clear up a few pores, but it would do nothing to make you look beautiful or improve your facial skin. Washing your face is important, however in order to look good you need to do a little more than that.

There are many lines of products available for facial care. Facial cleansers are especially created to be used on the face in place of soaps. Bar soaps, which are produced for the body, can often be more drying to the face and do not provide the benefits or meet the needs of proper facial care like the specialized cleansers. Facial cleaners offer solutions for removing makeup, treating blemishes and acne, dissolving blackheads, treating dry or flaky skin, managing oily skin, and protecting sensitive skin. Some cleansers offer added benefits such as deep cleaning and pore cleaning. Many deliver a cool, refreshing feeling to the face. The facial cleansers come in many forms including gels, liquids, foams, creams, and oils. Most are recommended to be used daily but there are products available for less frequent treatments.

There is also a large selection of lotions made just for the face. They tend to be lighter than a body lotion to control oiliness while offering added moisture. Many products contain other benefits such as sunscreen, self-tanners, and anti-aging ingredients which help decrease wrinkles and other signs of aging in the face.

Beyond lotions and facial cleansers, there is a wide variety of items available for specific treatment for issues concerning the face, such as acne, blackheads, whitehead, and eczema. These treatments come in many forms including liquids, gels, foams, creams, pre-moistened applicators and pads, and wipes. There are also masks which are applied and allowed to harden on the skin in an effort to remove the impurities in the pores. These masks remain on the face for a certain period of time as directed until they have thoroughly dried. The treatment is then removed with warm water or by peeling the mask from the skin. Generally these products are convenient and easy to apply. Many are intended to be rinsed off after application, though some directions require the treatment remain on the skin, depending on the issue being treated. Professional salons offer many options for a facial which cleans the skin and pores, and also relaxes the body. Salon facials are relatively inexpensive depending on the services received.

It is good practice to maintain proper and daily care of the face by removing makeup every day to ensure pores remain clear. Allowing dirt, natural oils, and environmental pollutants to build up in the pores will lead to blemishes and possibly more serious skin problems and conditions.

If you have a specific skin condition or you just have sensitive skin be sure to consult a professional. Find out what you can and cannot use on your skin. This would insure that you don’t spoil your skin any further by using things that don’t agree with you.
